Meet our Founder

Allan H. Bowermaster
Allan H. Bowermaster attended Ottawa, IL schools, and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1949.
He attended Northwestern University on a Navy scholarship.  He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi social fraternity.  In his senior year he was Co-Chairman of the Northwestern annual Waa-Mu Campus Musical, under the direction of his close friend and advisor, Joe W. Miller.

Upon graduation he served three years as a naval officer on board ships in the Far East, and in the Caribbean.

In 1957 he married Barbara Kaminski of Riverside, Illinois, and they moved to New York.

He became a Vice President of BBDO Advertising.  

Allan and Barbara had four children during the time they lived in New York; Steven, Teresa, David, and Linda.

In 1974 they moved to Boston where Allan became a McDonald's franchisee.  In 1976 a daughter, Cathy, was born to the couple.

During his time as a McDonald's franchisee Allan's fondest moments involved the Ronald McDonald House.  He was one of the founding members, and served as Treasurer and as a member of the board of directors until his retirement.

He is survived by his children: Teresa and her husband Dan and three grandchildren, Katy, Jack, and Ryan; David and wife Annie and their son Theo;  Linda and her son David and daughter Holly; Cathy and her husband Joe, Kaitlyn and Matthew. He was predeceased by his son Steven.
